Let Food Be Your Medicine

5/17/25

Norma’s Variety of Spice Blog
Hello Readers:)
“Let Food Be Thy Medicine and Medicine Be Thy Food” I try to stick to this Hippocrates motto.
In the photo is my 1st course for breakfast; fruit, herbal tea blend, vitamins and chia seed water (consumed throughout the day). I jump start my morning routinely with nourishment, which I believe keeps me healthy and from getting sick. If interested, research the benefits of letting food be your medicine and medicine be your food. I read somewhere that what is consumed either benefits or does damage to the body. Just sharing this bit of information for the uninformed. Have a good day.

Journal Making

12/12/24

Norma’s Variety of Spice Blog
Every year I create a journal for myself to keep record of things and jotting down thoughts, ideals and memories; sometimes adding photos and memorabilia. During the past years, I used my journals for keeping business appointments. This photo of collected felt, fabrics, ribbon and satin is actually the start of an artsy junk journal that will keep me busy for a few months in the upcoming year . Photos below are previous art journals and my actual journal for keeping notes during the year. Classes available.

Creating Abstract Art

Creating Art is a form of expression and release. The moment you choose a color or your pallet, and put your application tool to canvas, it is your mode of operation based on what you like; you are pulling from within; which is why creating  is therapeutic. With abstract art you have the freedom of expression by delving into your inner being to represent what you’re feeling, how you’re feeling, how you want to feel, what you like, what you don’t like, where you are, where you want to be,  so forth and so on; you’re sharing , experiencing and working through  your life experiences.

Artist Statement
Abstract art represents workings of the inner being; is an expression of self and is born out of experiences, desires, hopes and dreams.  Art seeks to satisfy a longing to be understood and accepted.   Art communicates when words dare not or cannot; Art is life's forces screaming to be released, embraced and appreciated.

I don’t have a photo to describe the description of the effect my client was experiencing after her massage; so, I Chose a snippet of this painting ‘Behind the Scenes’  I’ve received plenty of positive feedback’s throughout the years; but, this is a new one; she said she felt “intoxicated”. Wow! You don’t have to drink alcohol, just get a massage by Norma; you’ll leave feeling woozy:) Have a good night.
